2026 Visionary Leadership in Land Use Award Honoree

The Urban Land Institute New York (ULI NY) is pleased to announce Scott Rechler, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at RXR, as the recipient of the 2026 Visionary Leadership in Land Use Award. The award will be presented at the Tenth Annual Awards for Excellence in Development Gala on April 29, 2026, at Ziegfeld Ballroom.

“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by the Urban Land Institute New York with the Visionary Leadership in Land Use Award,” said Scott Rechler, Chairman and CEO of RXR. “RXR’s operational ethos is ‘Doing Good and Doing Well means Doing Better.’ We have long believed that our company is only as strong as the communities where we operate, particularly our hometown of New York. These values are fundamental to RXR, and I am honored to work alongside fellow industry leaders to tackle the complex challenges facing our region and create a city that works for all New Yorkers.”

The Award recognizes a leader within New York’s real estate community whose body of work exemplifies the mission and values of ULI, and who has had a transformational impact on our region and the industry. The recipient must also have demonstrated an enduring commitment – through civic engagement – to industry associations, causes, and initiatives.

“Scott Rechler exemplifies what it means to be a visionary leader in New York’s real estate industry. His commitment to transformative development and civic engagement has shaped our city and continues to inspire the entire industry,” said Helen Hwang, Chair of ULI New York and Senior Executive Managing Director at Meridian Investment Sales. “Through his leadership at RXR and his unwavering dedication to public service, Scott raises the standard for responsible development and personifies the values at the core of ULI’s mission.”

“As a leader who consistently demonstrates vision, innovation and influence, Scott Rechler has set a benchmark for what it means to shape the future of New York City’s built environment,” said Rachel Loeb, Chief Investment Officer at Benenson Capital Partners and Co-Chair of the 2026 Awards for Excellence Gala. “His work exemplifies how development can go beyond buildings to create stronger, more resilient communities, and ULI New York is proud to recognize his lasting impact on our industry and our city.”
