Cia Buckley Marakovits
President, Chief Investment Officer, Partner, Dune Real Estate Partners

Prior to joining Dune in 2007, Ms. Buckley Marakovits was the President of the U.S. Fund Business for JER Partners, an affiliate of the J.E. Robert Companies. Ms. Buckley Marakovits joined JER in 1997 and held a variety of positions there, including Chief Financial Officer, Head of Asset Management, Head of Acquisitions and President of the U.S. Fund Business. Before joining JER, Ms. Buckley Marakovits spent nine years in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Bankers Trust, where she sourced and managed a variety of assets, including distressed mortgage portfolios, operating company investments and structured debt investments.

Ms. Buckley Marakovits is a member of the Urban Land Institute (“ULI”) where she has previously served as a Trustee as well as a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer of the ULI Foundation. She is a member of the Investment Committee for ULI and is active in the Women’s Leadership Initiative. Ms. Buckley Marakovits is a member of and on the Board of the Pension Real Estate Association (“PREA”), serves as a member of Columbia Business School’s MBA Real Estate Program Advisory Board and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Samuel Zell and Robert Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School. She is a member of Women Executives in Real Estate (“WX”) and was honored as the WX Woman of the Year in 2011. Ms. Buckley Marakovits was selected by PERE as one of the Top Ten Women in Real Estate Private Equity in 2012 and received an award recognizing leadership and achievement in capital markets from the Association of Real Estate Women in 2013.

Ms. Buckley Marakovits also has public board experience, having served as a member of the Board of Directors of Taubman Centers, Inc., a NYSE-listed REIT, from 2016 to 2020. She is currently on the Board of Trustees of Phillips Exeter Academy and previously served on the Board of Trustees of Collegiate School in New York City. Ms. Buckley Marakovits received an M.B.A. from Columbia University in 1993 and a B.A. from Lafayette College in 1988.

Alan Suna
Silvercup Studios, Founder and Chairman 

Alan Suna is an architect, real estate developer and Chairman of Silvercup Studios in Long Island City and the Bronx.  In 40+ years in the industry, he and his brother, Stuart, have developed hundreds of thousands of square feet of commercial, mixed-use and studio space, as well as hundreds of residential units. In 1983, the Suna Family launched a visionary redevelopment initiative that transformed the vacant Silvercup Bakery complex into NYC’s leading independent, full-service film/television production facility, which in turn, changed the perception and complexion of Long Island City. In 1999, they developed Silvercup Studios East in LIC and further expanded their studio business in the Bronx with the addition of Silvercup North in August 2016. Sunas sold their Silvercup Assets to a Joint Venture of Hackman/Square Mile in September 2020. Hackman/Square Mile were already in the same business in Los Angeles and other venues around the world. Alan continues to work with his new partners to further the offerings of Silvercup Studios in the greater New York Metropolitan Area. Alan received his professional degree in architecture from Cornell University where he is on the Advisory Board of the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning. He also completed post graduate studies in architecture, business, and real estate development at M.I.T., Harvard and Columbia Universities.
