Sarah is a Senior Managing Director and head of Hines’ U.S. East market. She is responsible for all acquisitions and developments in the U.S. East, which includes $20 billion in assets under management and offices in New York City, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.
Sarah joined Hines in 2011 and was promoted to lead the U.S. East in 2021. She has spearheaded the East’s expansion into seniors housing, single-family lot development, and logistics, and oversaw the growth of the residential platform from 2,100 units to 9,500 units complete and in development.
Sarah has been recognized in Commercial Observer’s Power 100 feature since 2022. She serves on the board of Vertex Partnership Academies, a charter school in the Bronx, and the Executive Council for the University of Texas Real Estate Center. Sarah earned her BA and BBA degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
Rachel Loeb is the Chief Investment Officer of Benenson Capital Partners where she leads the company’s development, investment, and asset management strategies across its 110 properties. She also serves as Non-Executive Director of 7C, a wholly owned network of architecture and design brands operating from 18 global cities.
Before joining Benenson, Rachel led the NYC Economic Development Corporation as President and CEO. With annual revenues of $250MM, she ran a diverse 60MM+ square foot portfolio and managed a $10B+ capital budget. She launched the city’s post-pandemic economic recovery plan and created the city’s business development unit which negotiated the retention of the JetBlue headquarters.
Previously, she was a real estate developer and created or acquired more than $1.5B of mixed-use assets and over 3,000 units of mixed-income housing across the northeast and worked for privately held companies as well as at AvalonBay, a public REIT. Her career began in Vietnam working on the country’s first master-planned community.
Rachel received Crain’s New York Business 40 Under 40 honor and the Spirit of the City Award from the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. She is an active member of WX, ULI, serves on the Board of New York Outward Bound where she leads the Building and Infrastructure Committee, and serves as a Trustee of the Citizen Budget Commission.
A native of Kansas City and resident of Brooklyn, she graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in History and has a Master’s in City Planning from MIT.
Hilary Spann serves as Executive Vice President, New York Region. Ms. Spann brings to the Company more than 20 years of real estate investment and development experience, most recently the Head of Americas for Real Estate at CPP Investments. During her tenure at CPP, Ms. Spann was responsible for leading all aspects of the Americas real estate business, including investment strategy and execution, talent acquisition and management, and portfolio management. Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2016, Ms. Spann held several executive roles in acquisitions and asset management in the Global Alternatives Group at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, including as the head of acquisitions for the northeast region for real estate. In addition to her responsibilities at BXP, Ms. Spann is an independent Director of Goodman (ASX:GMG). Ms. Spann is a Trustee of the Urban Land Institute, and she sits on the board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). Ms. Spann is also a member of the Economic Club of New York and a Trustee of the Madison Square Park Conservancy. Ms. Spann graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of City Planning, both from the College of Architecture. She also studied architecture at the Ecole d’Architecture de Paris – La Villette.
Katherine Salvatori is a Development Project Manager at RXR, where she supports development and transaction advisory efforts for one of the firm’s major mixed-use initiatives in New York City. Previously, she was a Development Project Manager at BXP in New York, specializing in office redevelopment, including the hospitality-driven amenity repositioning of 510 Madison Avenue and 360 Park Avenue South. She began her career at JBG SMITH in Washington, D.C. as a Development Analyst, contributing to early-phase execution of the Potomac Yard development. Earlier experience includes commercial real estate internships at Goldman Sachs, Hines, and Colliers.
Katherine holds a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in Real Estate and Retail and minors in Architectural History and Urban Real Estate Development. She earned a Master of Science in Real Estate Development (MSRED) from MIT, where she was a member of the Young Leaders Program cohort. A ULI member since 2017, Katherine currently serves as Co-Chair of the ULI New York Young Leaders Group (YLG) Programming Committee. She is a LEED Green Associate, WELL AP, and an active member of the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center at Wharton.
